Supply Chain Management Forum at IE.
Last friday I attended the 19th. Forum on Supply Chain Management, organized jointly by the Instituto de Empresa and the Bourdaux Business School. There were very interesting speakers from FedEx, Ford, Inditex, Leroy Merlin and others. To be honest, the ideas were interesting, and some of the speakers were in fact engaging and fun to listen, in particular Martin Christopher, from Cranfield School of Management was wonderful. Others, however managed to bore the life out of me. I felt very much out of place at times; I felt akward at the coffee break, even more so at lunch, and by mid-afternoon I had no willingness to live....
On saturday I went to La Feria del Libro de Madrid, at the Retiro Park. It was a beautiful morning. The kids practiced roller skating, (Alice is very good already, and Carlos is learning fast), but I only found one book, which I strongly recommend to those interested in basic finance: Finanzas Para Directivos, by Eduardo Martinez Abascal.
Yesterday, I decided to take advantage of the new extended timetable at the Library of the IE, so I spent almost all day trying to study. For lunch I went to a nearby VIPS, and bought another book, which herewith I would recommend to those involved in any kind of family business, Retratos de Familia.
Enough for now....
