I believe one of the many great things about being a child is the reassuring feeling of being surrounded and taken care off by adults who know very well what they are doing, and most importantly, who know ALL THE ANSWERS. No matter what life puts in front of you, you can just look up, and ask your parents,.......what is that? what are they doing? Why are things they way they are?.....and they always have an answer, even if sometimes the answer is a, disappointing "never mind that!" You think, is just bad timing, they´ll tell me later.
As we grow old, one day we realize that our parents in particular, and the rest of older people in general, do not have the answers to the really big and difficult questions, they just appear to know, or they are simply tired of asking..., or they have grown accustomed to living with the inherent uncertainty of being alive.
In the turbulent times we are confronting, some of us look everywhere for answers, we read the papers, we watch the news, we listened to the radio, and everywhere we find an army of self-defined "experts" or "gurus" Everywhere they present to us those answers, with the same sober look in their eyes as our parents used to have, and with exactly the same fake confidence, and with exactly the same lack of fundamentals .
We fool ourselves looking for patterns, for a meaning, for ANSWERS. Someone said, only change is permanent, and if you believe that, most of the questions have in reality not one, but a multitude of conflicting answers.

Clemen and the kids are gone to the beach for a few days, and I am left behind in Madrid working and trying to catch up with some books, papers, and movies, I have been postponing for quite some time. I miss them a lot, but solitude in small doses is a great medicine for me.
